Trust Score Disclaimer

Last updated: March 2026

1. What is a Trust Score?

The SureTrade Trust Score is a numerical indicator displayed on tradesperson profiles. It is generated by our proprietary algorithm and is intended to help homeowners compare tradespeople at a glance.

2. What the Trust Score is based on

The Trust Score considers multiple factors, which may include:

  • Profile completeness (bio, photos, service areas)
  • Declared qualifications and certifications
  • Insurance declarations
  • Customer review ratings and volume
  • Response time and engagement
  • Length of time on the Platform
  • Availability and update frequency

The exact weighting and formula are proprietary and may change over time as we refine the algorithm.

3. What the Trust Score is not

The Trust Score is:

  • Not a guarantee of quality, reliability, safety, or competence
  • Not a professional accreditation or endorsement by SureTrade
  • Not a verified assessment of qualifications or insurance -- it reflects what the tradesperson has declared, not independently verified facts
  • Not a substitute for your own due diligence

4. Limitations

A high Trust Score does not mean a tradesperson is the right fit for your project. A lower score does not necessarily mean poor quality -- it may reflect a newer profile or less activity on the Platform.

Trust Scores can change over time as new data becomes available. They should be considered alongside other factors such as reviews, qualifications, and direct conversations.

5. Not influenced by payment

Trust Scores are not affected by whether or how much a tradesperson pays SureTrade. Scores are calculated independently of any commercial relationship.

6. Your responsibility

We strongly encourage all homeowners to:

  • Verify qualifications and insurance directly with the tradesperson
  • Request references and examples of previous work
  • Obtain multiple quotes before committing to any work
  • Use written contracts that clearly define scope, cost, and timeline

7. No liability

SureTrade accepts no liability for any decisions made based on Trust Scores. The score is provided as guidance only and must not be relied upon as the sole basis for hiring a tradesperson.
